Many Parents believe their children should have several hours of homework, but because the children already have a demanding daily schedule at school, we feel their homework levels should be kept to a minimum and used to specifically reinforce what the children have been learning during lesson times.
Homework is now distributed to the students ‘electronically’ and each grade in the school receives their weekly homework via the School Communicator. Each grade has a: Maths, English, Grammar and Topic task which are to be completed and handed in together on a Thursday.
All grades in the school have a weekly list of spellings to practice which are given to the children on a Sunday and these are tested every Thursday.
Reading books are sent home on a regular basis. Please encourage your children at home by reading with them, asking questions throughout the story and talking about the book they’re reading. This will help develop and improve your childrens’ comprehension skills.
